Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Chief- Excellent Opportunity

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has an excellent opportunity for an Academic Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Chief in its Department of Psychiatry. Responsibilities include managing the daily operations of an Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, leading interdisciplinary teams, participating in behavioral and medical codes, evaluating academic activities for residents and medical students, and providing direct patient care. Monitoring length of stay, providing clinical consultations, evaluating the need for psychiatric assessments and other components of aftercare, and participating in Performance Improvement, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Regulatory activities are also essential to this position.

Audiologist

BronxCare Health System now has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Audiologist in its Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Department. Responsibilities include conducting hearing and balance evaluations for inpatients and outpatients of all ages; obtaining history and condition of patients through interviews and diagnostic testing; evaluating audiological data to assist physicians in determining causes for a patient’s condition; writing clear and timely reports for physicians; and developing personalized treatment and monitoring plans. X-Ray, CT, and Ultrasound Technologists

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital and health system, now has excellent opportunities for X-Ray, CT, and Ultrasound Technologists in its Department of Radiology. Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist/ Pediatric Attending

BronxCare Health System, a major teaching hospital system, now has an excellent opportunity for a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist. Responsibilities within the Department of Pediatrics include providing care to an underserved, underprivileged population in the South and Central Bronx and providing primary and specialty care to HIV-infected children, teenagers, and young adults. The Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist will also provide consults to all BronxCare departments/divisions in need of services, including the Pediatric inpatient floor, Pediatric Emergency Department, Pediatric clinics (including BronxCare satellite clinics), and other areas as required, and will assume clinical responsibilities in our Travel Medicine Program. There will be potential to serve as a site co-investigator in multi-centered NIH network studies including Maternal, Perinatal, Pediatric, and young adults with HIV.

BronxCare’s Department of Pediatrics includes a Pediatric ED, Inpatient Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Newborn Nursery, Level 3 NICU, and four outpatient practices. Social Workers

  • Outpatient Social Workers (two positions available)
    Under the direction of clinical supervisors, Outpatient Social Workers are responsible for determining and assisting in the resolution of patient/family issues and working with an interdisciplinary team in providing patient care, preparing statistical reports, and serving as a liaison within the department, hospital, and with community agencies. Activities and related efforts will also be directed to assuring the smooth functioning of the social work program.

    Master’s degree from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work and a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience in providing social work services within a hospital, medical, or mental health setting are essential. LCSW/LMSW required. Bilingual abilities are also preferred.
  • Inpatient Level (three positions available)
    Inpatient Social Workers will utilize their experience in providing psychosocial services as well as coordinate discharge planning and a continuum of care for patients and families. Inpatient Social Worker will also assist in enhancing the capabilities for assigned patients in coping with illness, crisis situations, and daily functioning.

    Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and New York State License as an LMSW are required. Limited permit is needed for newly graduated social workers (must provide exam date prior to start of employment). At least one year of prior Social Services employment preferred.
